All Saints' Church

Lopen

Somerset

August 2011

A small but beautiful church, All Saints has 12th or 13th century origins, but was largely rebuild in the 14th and 15th centuries with the north transept being added in 1833. It has some beautiful stained glass windows, and the plain ones are tinted pink, giving a lovely warm glow inside.  The churchyard and headstones are maintained very well.  Sometimes I had to refer to the Parish Records transcriptions to help verify names or dates when the inscriptions were difficult to read.
